Im looking for some nice recipies for me my partner and 2 children. We are on benefits at the moment so we cant afford all these flash ingredients or spices/herbs.
Im looking for some nice recipies which are pretty healthy and low cost, im a vegetarian so some veggie recipies would be great. Also, recipies which dont take forever to prepare or cook. Thanks.

      Macaroni and cheeseburger casserole

2 lbs lean ground beef (cook in skillet and add some salt, pepper, onion and stewed or diced tomatoes)
      1 box macaroni shells cooked
      shredded cheese
mix all ingredients together and bake in the oven at 350 for about 30-35 mins.
Depending on your knowledge of nutrition you may wish to use low fat cheese. I understand that you want this to be low cost. Super Wal-Mart usually has the best deals on these items. This meal should last at least 2 days if you serve it with some garlic bread or a green salad. You can also buy cheap spices here to for about 50 cents a pop.

      Chili
      Lean ground beef
      chopped onion
      kidney beans
      chili powder
stewed/diced tomatoes (generic brands just as good)
      tomato sauce
      salt and pepper
Again serve with garlic bread or a salad to make the meal stretch for 2 days. And you can freeze these meals as well.

Veg chilli is easy and can be eaten with baked potatoes or rice to ring the changes.
      large onion,
      peppers whatever yu ‘ve got
      mushrooms
      celery etc
basically use whatever you have in fridge
Then fry onion and celery etc, add peppers and cook till softened then add tin of tomatoes and chilli beans, add extra chilli powder if wanted. Cook for about half hour then leave to get cold (if you have time) When chilli is reheated, it always tastes much better!
Cook either bakies or rice and reheat whilst those are cooking.
      Hope you enjoy!
Risottos are also lovely, cheap and the kids like them too
